The Petawawa Minor Soccer Club (PMSC) is a community-run organization offering children aged 3–18 in Petawawa and the surrounding area the opportunity to play soccer and develop their skills year-round.
We offer Grassroots, Recreational, Intermediate, and Competitive programs.

Outdoor Recreational registration typically opens February 1st.

Fees vary by program.
Competitive registration is by invitation only after tryouts;
2025 fees were $400–$425 per player for reference.
Recreational fees are listed during the registration process on PowerUp.
Uniform costs may be additional depending on your child’s age group.

Here’s a quick guide:
- Grassroots / Mini Soccer (U3–U8): Fun, low-pressure introduction to soccer. No scores or standings — just skill-building and enjoyment.
- Recreational (U10+): Weekly practices and games as part of the Valley United Soccer League (VUSL). Great for players who want a regular season experience.
- Intermediate (U8+): An optional extra layer of development for recreational players who want additional practices and out-of-town festivals.
- Competitive (U8–U18): Year-round commitment with tryouts, structured training, and league play in the Eastern Ontario Soccer League. For players looking for a higher level of challenge.

Intermediate and Competitive players also register and play in Recreational soccer.
Your child will be placed on a Recreational team in addition to their Competitive or Intermediate team.
Age groups are based on year of birth.

PMSC offers indoor soccer at Dundonald Hall (DDH) for players U6–U15 from November through March.
U13+ players participate in Futsal.
Registration information is posted on the Recreational page when the season opens.
Note: all children under 12 must be supervised by a guardian aged 14+ while at DDH.
All players need:
- a short-sleeved shirt, shin guards
- socks tall enough to cover the shin guards
- shorts
- appropriate footwear.
Cleats are not required but are recommended:
soccer-specific only, no metal, no baseball or football cleats.
- U3/U4 and U6: Full uniform (shirt, shorts, socks) provided by our Tim Horton’s “Timbit” sponsor.
- U8: PMSC provides the team jersey. Families purchase black shorts and black socks.
- U10+: Families purchase a gold Falcons jersey, black shorts, and gold socks through PowerUp.

as long as it still fits and meets the requirements for your child’s age group!
You can indicate your interest in volunteering when registering your child through PowerUp.

All coaches, assistant coaches, and volunteers must:
- Register with PMSC and Ontario Soccer
- Complete a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (valid for 3 years) — email volunteer@petawawaminorsoccer.com for your free volunteer letter before starting the check
- Complete the Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders course (PMSC will reimburse the cost upon proof of completion)
- Complete the Coaching Soccer in Canada online module (required by Canada Soccer)
Not if you contact us first!
Email volunteer@petawawaminorsoccer.com to request a volunteer letter (this allows you to complete the check for free through the OPP).
If you live on Garrison Petawawa, your check must be completed at the MPs station on base.

Refereeing is a great way to stay involved, stay active, and earn some income.
Use the referee interest form linked on the bottom of our Volunteering Page, and our Head Referee will follow up with next steps.
Outdoor games and practices are held at the Civic Centre fields (16 Civic Centre Road / Volunteer Way, Petawawa).
Competitive team practices and tryouts may also take place at Valour JK-12, St. Francis of Assisi, Jeanne-Lajoie, L’Équinoxe, or Dundonald Hall.

Schedules for U10 and older are released by the Valley United Soccer League (VUSL) closer to the start of the season and can be found at vusl.ca.
