Up profile, a link will be placed here on the website, and an update will be made on Facebook. Please stay tuned!
We are also happy to announce plans for our first ever “soccer gear swap” this year.
If your player has outgrown their jersey/cleats/etc., and they are still in great shape…this may be for you!! Dates/location TBA.
The following are required of all players regardless of level:
- Shirt with short sleeves
- Shin guards
- Socks (tall enough to cover the shin guards)
- Shorts
- Footwear
Surprisingly, cleats are not required, however, they are definitely beneficial, especially on wet grass. When buying cleats, look for soccer-specific pairs and no metal. Baseball or football cleats will not be accepted. These cleats have a higher ankle and a fifth spike on the toe, both of which are not acceptable for soccer. Referees will not allow players to play with cleats designed for other sports.
VUSL and PMSC strongly recommend that players not use mini shin guards. This recommendation is made out of concern for player safety. As of the 2025 season, FIFA has determined that the onus is on the player (parent) to ensure that shin guards are acceptable for play. Referees will not be held responsible for injuries caused by insufficient shin guards.
All items of jewelry (necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings, leather bands, rubber bands, etc.) are forbidden and must be removed. Using tape to cover jewelry is not permitted (with the exception of medical alert bracelets). Make sure you think twice before getting pierced. The healing time might bring you into soccer season, and you will not be permitted to play with piercings for safety purposes.
Rubber bands to hold your hair are permitted, but wearing them on your wrist is not. Bobby pins are very dangerous. A quick header the wrong way and it goes through your skin or someone’s eyes if there is an accidental collision.
All players should also come with full water bottles.
Exercise is thirsty work!

U3-U6 – Active Start
PMSC Active Start (affectionately coined our “Mini Soccer” program) will provide players one day a week of soccer FUN! The session will consist of different activities with a focus on skill development appropriate for the age group.
In this program we are dedicated to laying the foundation for young athletes. Targeting the U3-U6 age group, our focus is twofold: building a solid grasp of Physical Literacy and orchestrating practice sessions that are not just fun and safe but also keep children actively engaged.
With a unique approach, the main field will feature 16+ “mini fields”, each run by a youth soccer coach, supported by a parent volunteer “Team Manager”, and led by a trained coach under provincial guidance.
The 8-week program unfolds with weekly development sessions, aligning seamlessly with the objectives of Active Start and fundamental NCCP, harmonizing with Ontario and Canada Soccer standards.

Location: Dundonald Hall
57 Festubert Bld, Petawawa, ON K8H 2X3
According to DDH Guidelines, all children under the age of 12 must be under direct supervision of a guardian that is 14 years or older while in the facility, so we ask that parents bring their players into the DDH fieldhouse and sign them in/ensure their coach knows that they are there. As per DDH policy, parents of players 12 or younger will be asked to remain in the vicinity for the duration of the practices.
Although we always encourage spectating for all age groups, space is determined by how busy the field house may be during your players session.
Please remember to bring appropriate indoor footwear (YES! Even parents/guardians!) to respect the rules of Dundonald Hall.
